POSITION SUMMARY

The Childcare Educator plays a vital role in delivering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children within our Club’s Childcare & Youth Department. This position supports early learning and recreational development through age-appropriate programming, hands-on activities, and positive interactions. The ideal candidate is energetic, creative, and passionate about working with children, while also being a collaborative team player who contributes to the overall success of the department. A strong customer service mindset, flexibility, and a commitment to child safety and wellbeing are essential in this role.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Flexible availability; must be able to work Monday to Friday between 8:30am – 4:30pm, with potential for additional shifts as needed.
  • Early Childhood Education (ECE), Infant Toddler, or ECE Assistant certification is an asset; related childcare experience with references will also be considered.
  • Valid First Aid, CPR, and Food Safe certification are considered strong assets.
  • Access to reliable transportation is an asset due to the Club’s location.
Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children in a preschool-like setting.
  • Plan, prepare, and lead age-appropriate activities that support children’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development.
  • Assist in delivering programs and activities in the Kids Centre and during Childcare & Youth drop-ins or special events.
  • Maintain a cheerful, professional, and approachable demeanor when interacting with children, families, and fellow team members.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring families feel confident and comfortable leaving their children in our care.
  • Collaborate with team members to share creative ideas, enhance programming, and contribute to the ongoing development of the Childcare department.
