Job Title: Child Care Lead Teacher
Department: Business - Child Care
FLSA Status: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports to: Director of Child Care
Schedule: 7:45am - 4pm or 9am - 6:15pm

COMPENSATION: $54,262 - $75,103/YEAR

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • COVID Vaccinations (At least 1 full course) required
  • At least 1 year of Childcare lead/co-lead teacher experience preferred
  • Completion of at least 60 credit hours or an associate degree (or higher) in any subject area with at least 12 credit hours in early childhood education or a High School Diploma and a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and earns an associate degree (or higher) within four years of their initial date of hire
  • Bachelor’s Degree in any field (with at least 12 credit hours in early childhood education) is preferred

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Working Environment: In-school. The role is based on-site and will grow to include another campus, which will result in interaction with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED:

  • Lead the planning and conducting of an effective child development program to meet the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of each child.
  • Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate and use, both in learning activities and imaginative play
  • Organize activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling and field trips
  • Teach basic skills such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene and social skills
  • Teach in ways that are interactive, hands-on, inquiry-based, and promote self-discovery and critical thinking
  • Attend to the infant’s basic needs, such as feeding, dressing, diapering, hand washing, napping, transitioning, etc. Ensure these child care routines are carried out in a manner that is prompt, hygienic and consistent with good child development principles.
  • Communicate with the older children and their families, as outlined in the handbook
