The Childcare Offsite Supervisors oversee the operations of the Licensed Childcare and/or Before & After School Programs at various CRCNCW locations. They provide support to the Program Staff and report to the Manager of Licensed Childcare and Before & After School Programs (the “Manager”).
Job Responsibilities:

  1. Managing all Program Staff at your designated Offsite location(s) pursuant to the CRCNCW policies and procedures, parent handbook and licensing/operating requirements, which includes, but is not limited to:
  • Receiving and responding to Program Staff inquiries and concerns;
  • All training requirements including professional development, first aid etc.
  • Organizing staff schedules including weekly group planning time to be conducted in person at your designated Offsite and/or the Head Office location;
  • Approving and organizing requests for time off, sick time, and shift coverages;
  • Regular individual staff one-on-ones (training to complete these will be provided by the Manager or Executive Director);
  • Participate in staff performance evaluations with Manager or Executive Director;
  • Ensuring Program Staff are following all policies and procedures set out by the CRC as well as the County of Wellington, Public Health and the Ministry of Education;
  • Compiling, reviewing and submitting all Program Staff timesheets to the Manager for payroll;
  • Training new Program Staff and Re-Training current Program Staff as required by the Manager;
  • Organizing monthly team meetings with all Program Staff at designated locations;
  1. Communicating with community partners in regards to scheduling support visits into programs including Licensing, Operating, County of Wellington, Public Health, CMHA etc.

  2. Managing and organizing all documentation for each program operating at their designated location pursuant to the CRCNCW policies and procedures, parent handbook and licensing/operating requirements, which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Reviewing and submitting all attendance sheets to the Manager on a monthly basis;
  • Providing programs with all monthly/daily documentation required, including communication books, attendance, fire drill logs, playground checks, allergy lists, license, and menus;
  • Reviewing and updating the above documentation regularly;
  • Manage the budget for the designated locations which includes properly distributing funds for supplies, groceries, damaged equipment, children events and programs;
  • Budgeting, organizing and purchasing of all program activity supplies and groceries;
  1. Bi-weekly meetings with the Manager about program updates including staff performance, children and families (this does not include urgent situations that should be dealt with immediately);
  2. Supervising all group planning meetings to ensure compliance with CRCNCW policies and procedures, parent handbook and licensing/operating requirements as well as using experience as a qualified educator to ensure all programming and activities are appropriate for children attending;
  3. Supporting the Childcare Office Administrator in obtaining update to date information for all current children and families including contact information, medical diagnosis etc.

  4. Managing the General Inbox for the designated site, which includes but is not limited to:

  • Reviewing and responding the general childcare inquiries within 48 hours;
  • Responding to family emails regarding concerns, updates and meetings to discuss specific children issues, behaviors or incidents;
  • Forwarding and distributing emails to the appropriate Manager or the Executive Director depending on severity of the issue;
  • Organizing emails into the appropriate folders;
  1. Compiling and reviewing all Incident or Accident Reports to the Manager weekly and/or immediately depending on severity of the incident;
  2. On-Call Program Staff for Licensed Childcare and Before & After School Programs as directed and organized by the offsite supervisors and the childcare manager. Due to the nature of the program, you may be required to flex your day and split your shift to provide on site coverage during the operation hours of your program;
  3. Between July and August, acting as the Supervisor for one (1) Summer Program room including all the above job responsibilities and/or to be determined by the Manager;

Required Qualifications:

  • Safe Food Handler Certificate (Obtained or obtained within one (1) month)
  • Standard First Aid + CPR Level C (valid or obtained prior to commencement)
  • Police Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months and/or prior to commencement)
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator in good standing (requirement prior to commencement)

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.86-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
