You and Me Counselling are looking to recruit a full-time qualified counsellor to join our busy and expanding counselling service.
You and Me Counselling is a charitable organisation established in 2011. We are a counselling and psychotherapy service based in Hornchurch, Essex that works with children, young people, adults, and their families in the boroughs of Havering, Barking & Dagenham, Redbridge, and Waltham Forest. Our counsellors and therapists work both within schools and from our own counselling rooms located in Hornchurch and Ilford. As of 2018, we are proud to announce we are an approved service provider in the London Borough of Havering.
You and Me Counselling are an organisational member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). This means we are fully governed by the BACP’s Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Qualified to a minimum of Diploma Level 4 or Level 5 Counselling Qualification
  • Experience of working with young people.
  • Experience of assessing, engaging, and working with young people who self-harm and experience suicidal feelings.
  • Experience of delivering counselling interventions in a focussed and time limited manner
  • Ability to form positive working relationships with young people, colleagues, and other professionals.
  • Must have full drivers license and own vehicle.
Responsibilities
  • Ability to work therapeutically with young people through a variety of mediums including face to face and online.
  • Knowledge of the professional issues relating to counselling provision, including safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Accredited with BACP, UKRC or equivalent or actively working towards accreditation.
  • Ability to keep accurate records and complete monitoring & evaluation within agreed deadlines.
  • Ability to work within the confines of confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage time, to plan own workload and evaluate performance.
  • Ability to manage confidential information within project and organisational guidelines.
  • Able to use initiative, adaptable and flexible.
  • Must have clean Driving License and be able to drive between the various schools (mileage will be covered)
