Are you a highly motivated and innovative individual who is focused upon delivering a high standard of nursing care to children and their families? If so then the Bradford Children’s Community Nursing Team is the place for you.
We are looking to recruit Children’s Nurses (RSCN/RN Child) with recent, extensive experience in caring for children in the community and/or acute setting. You will need to possess excellent communication skills, practical clinical skills, as well as a clear and compassionate approach to children and their families. A flexible approach to care delivery and the ability to manage change in a positive and effective way is also essential in this constantly changing environment. You will be expected to work autonomously and hold your own caseload of patients and in return we will ensure that you are well supported through our extensive training and preceptorship package.
Our Children’s Community Nursing service provides nursing support for children, young people and their families with complex health care needs wherever they may require it. Our Continuing Care Service also delivers packages of care to these children to support their being cared for within their own homes. This is in addition to some short term nursing interventions which we deliver in client’s own homes. The main aim of our service is to care for children at home and to prevent them being admitted to hospital.
Responsible for the assessment of care needs as well as the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care. The post holder will manage their own caseload of patients and be responsible for ensuring appropriate care is received.
The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision and is required to teach junior staff, both qualified and unqualified.
To coordinate the workload as part of a skilled team providing quality-based nursing service for children, young people and their families
Participates in teaching, mentoring and assessing of students, trainees and professional staff.
Aims to safely avoid hospital admissions and maintain safe care of the child/family in the home setting where appropriate.
At Bradford Teaching Hospitals we’re passionate about providing outstanding care for the people of the Bradford district and communities across the North of England. We’re keen to meet people interested in sharing our passion and helping us continue to deliver the highest quality of care to our patients.
We’re a renowned teaching hospital trust at the forefront of research, education and development, with a state-of-the-art simulation and skills training centre on site.
In short, we can help you lift your career to the next level. We’ve received huge investment to improve patient care which means we have truly world-class facilities including a brand-new neonatal suite, state-of-the-art intensive care unit, a newly refurbished A&E department, new children’s unit and a welcoming, modern atrium and reception area for staff and visitors.
