Description Position Description: This position provides goal-directed supports and solution-focused interventions to achieve identified goals or objectives as set forth in the consumer’s individualized treatment plan. This position also facilitates services that are designed to assist the consumer with compensating for or eliminating functional deficits and interpersonal and/or environmental barriers associated with their mental illness. At times this position will provide services to consumers who are experiencing a psychiatric crisis with services designed to interrupt and/or ameliorate a crisis experience. As medically necessary this position will provide assistance in the form of direct support, supervision, and/or cueing so that the consumer performs the task by him/herself. The majority of contacts will occur in the crisis pod at CMHC. This position conducts activities under the direction of senior clinical staff. Credential and Experience Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old. High school diploma or equivalent. Pass pre-employment background checks. Pass a TB Screen Test. Certification in the State of Kansas to provide this service is required. Experience working with behaviorally challenged children and adults with a mental health diagnosis preferred. Required Skills/Abilities: Obtain Certification for Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training. MOAB is an in-depth training program that teaches individuals how to recognize, reduce, and manage violent and aggressive behavior. Training provided. MOAB training requires controlled movements, body positioning, and the ability to perform physical holds and restraint techniques. The focus of MOAB training is to use techniques that can be effectively applied by employees of varying physical capabilities while minimizing potential harm to both the individual being restrained and the trained themselves. First aid & CPR certification. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities: Required to follow dress code policies of any alternative work locations, including but not limited to schools, jails, courts, detention centers, other community partners, etc. Assist in assessment of needs assigned consumers Provide support in crisis situation Maintain close monitoring and supervising while client is in pod or YCSU. 30 min documented checks around the clock Engage and interact with client to process/reflect on situation, as client is willing Administer and log medications as labeled Maintain proper documentation of time and services Provide transportation as needed Attend meetings and supervision as directed by supervisor Complete annual trainings Complete and maintain proper documentation of time and services within 24 hours Maintain current trainings/certifications for position Services allowed for this position: Psychosocial Rehabilitation – Individual H2017, Group H2017 TJ Crisis Intervention – Basic (Attendant) H2011, Intermediate (Bachelor) H2011 HK Attendant Care – T1019 HE Requirements Physical Requirements: Be able to get on the floor and rise without assistance Have full mobility in both arms and shoulders Prolonged periods of standing and walking Additional Helpful Qualifications: Additional duties as necessary and as assigned by Immediate Supervisor.
