Job Title: Children’s Deputy Manager
Location: Rushden Spencer, Northamptonshire
Salary: £32,000 - £36,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week (including some evenings, weekends, and on-call duties)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Essential
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or willingness to work towards) – Desirable
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a children’s residential setting
  • Experience in a senior or supervisory role – Essential
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted standards
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people
  • Full UK driving licence – Essential
Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home. You will be a strong role model for the staff team, uphold high care standards, and play a key role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the young people in our care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in leading and managing a team of Residential Support Workers
  • Support the Registered Manager in meeting all regulatory and Ofsted requirements
  • Ensure care plans are implemented and regularly reviewed
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor to staff
  • Help manage staffing rotas, budgets, and administration
  • Participate in the on-call rota and provide shift cover when needed
  • Build and maintain strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals
  • Promote independence, emotional resilience, and positive outcomes for young people
