DEPUTY MANAGER – HALESOWEN, WEST MIDLANDS

Salary: £35,000 per year
Contract type: Permanent, full-time (9-5)
We are seeking an experienced and committed Deputy Manager to join our 2-bed children’s home in Halesowen, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience in residential childcare, ideally in a leadership or supervisory role
• Qualified to Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• A resilient, professional, and child-focused approach
• Must be a driver with access to a vehicle

• Supporting the Home Manager in day-to-day operations and staff management
• Leading, mentoring, and supervising a team of Residential Support Workers
• Contributing to recruitment, training, and performance management of staff
• Ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and safeguarding compliance
• Monitoring and reviewing care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
• Maintaining accurate records and reporting on incidents, safeguarding concerns, and regulatory requirements
• Liaising with external agencies, parents, and professionals to coordinate care and support for young people
• Managing budgets and resources for the home efficiently
• Supporting inspection readiness (Ofsted or other regulatory bodies)
• Promoting a positive home environment and culture of continuous improvement
• Covering the Home Manager’s duties when required, ensuring smooth operations at all times
