CHILDREN’S HOME MANAGER – BEDFORD (MK42)

Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Contract: Full-time | Permanent
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager to lead our well-established Children’s Home in Bedford (MK42). The home is consistently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is supported by a strong leadership and care team, including a Deputy Manager, three Team Leaders, and a group of committed residential care professionals.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and ambitious individual to manage the home and ensure that the highest standards of care are delivered to the children we support.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (Children & Young People or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years’ experience working with children within the past 5 years.
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience supervising staff and managing in a residential children’s setting.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.
  • A proactive and confident leader with a commitment to creating a stable and supportive home environment.
Responsibilities

As the Registered Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the home.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and Ofsted requirements.
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment for children.
  • Oversee and support a dedicated team, ensuring ongoing development and high staff morale.
  • Take responsibility for quality improvement, monitoring, and audits across the home.
  • Manage the home’s budget and report to the Responsible Individual.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider management team at a strategic level.
  • Bring creativity and leadership to drive continuous improvement and innovation in care delivery.
