Description

An excellent opportunity for a Registered Manager to join our home, in Dudley. The home is rated Good in all areas with OFSTED and has an excellent reputation with the local authorities. Many of the Children & Young People we support have a learning disability, Autism, epilepsy and/or can display some associated behaviours. Many of our children (not all) are non-verbal or have limited communication and will communicate with us through different methods such as picture boards, Smartbox devices and Makaton. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Passionate about making the difference to the lives of young people in care.
  • Relevant Experience: At least 2 years in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
  • Qualifications: Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is essential. Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is preferred at point of application, if not then you must be enrolled on the Level 5 within 6 months of starting in post.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Skills: Efficient in; planning, organizing, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership.
  • Communication: Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.
  • Understanding Trauma: Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
  • Driving License: Full UK Manual required.
