JOB DESCRIPTION:

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of young people? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Support Worker to join our team at a children’s home in Cradley Heath. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality care and support to children and young people, ensuring their emotional and physical well-being in a safe and nurturing environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience working with children or young people, preferably within a residential care setting.
• A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexibly and as part of a team.
• NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or working towards it) is desirable but not essential.
• A valid DBS check will be required (we can assist with this process).

• Provide direct care and support to children and young people in a residential care setting.
• Assist in the day-to-day running of the children’s home, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
• Promote positive behavior and create individual care plans that meet the needs of each child.
• Build positive and professional relationships with children, colleagues, and external agencies.
• Support children and young people in achieving their personal goals, promoting their independence and social development.
• Respond to challenging situations with a calm and proactive approach.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and report any safeguarding concerns to the relevant authorities.
