A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a new post where you would develop and support 2 of our established services, based in our Bayhead community service building. The first service is our Outreach SDS services which is registered with the Care Inspection. We have 4 children and young people that we support all with different support needs, and they have individualised packages of care which are set up by SW and we deliver what is set. Some come in after school, Saturdays and holiday periods.
Due to being registered, there are certain things that need to be in place to meet the care inspection requirements. You would be supported by the children’s service manager to meet these outcomes, and we would offer you the opportunity to get your Registered Managers award, once through your probation period. You would oversee the rota, making sure shifts are covered, get to know the staff and the children and young people we work with and ensure standards are met. We aim for ongoing improvement and growth of all our services, and you would be behind these changes for this service. Using your skills and knowledge to develop the service further. There are 2 contracted staff and several casuals attached to this service. The Children and young people currently attending range from 5 to 30 years old. This service will take up most of your working hours.
The second service is our assessment and therapy service which has been running for over 27 years. Fully funded by the Health Board the 2 staff work with children who have additional support needs, following up on programmes set up by the therapists such as OT, speech and language, physio etc. The work is carried out in schools, nurseries, at the child’s home or in our Bayhead building. You would support and line manage up to 5 staff in this role. You will be supporting staff to meet the needs of our young people between the ages 2 and 16 to help them reach their full potential and achieving new outcomes. You will help create a stimulating and engaging environment whilst always ensuring safety.
The job is 3 days a week, which may include an occasional Saturdays. Training will be offered and opportunities to develop your skills and knowledge. Your direct line manager will be the Children’s Services manager
PLEASE NOTE WE ARE UNABLE TO OFFER VISA SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE.
