  Role: Children’s Services Worker   Salary: £24,309.07 per annum  (pro-rata) Location: Torquay, Devon. (with expected travel across Paignton and Brixham)  Contract/Hours: Permanent Part Time 26 hours a week – 4 days a week 9am to 3.30pm  Closing Date: Midnight on Tuesday 7th April. Because we know that, when we work together, we can make a huge difference to bring lasting improvements to vulnerable children's lives.  A bit about the role:  Action for Children are working with Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust and Torbay Council as the 0 to 19 Torbay Partnership  The services work together to promote the health, development and well-being of children, young people and families in the Torbay area where families first come into contact with our team antenatally and then at various points through early years onto pre-school and until the child has reached 19.  We have centres in Torquay, Paignton and Brixham offering drop-ins, family support, workshops, fun play sessions, antenatal support, and much more for families and those preparing for parenthood.  As a Children’s Service Worker, you will provide support to children, and families by working with the family one to one to support their child’s speech and language and  supporting families within our group sessions.  How you will help to create brighter futures.   Our vision is that every child and young person in the country has a safe and happy childhood. To help us achieve this as Children's services worker, you will:  * Support the team to deliver interventions to children, young people, or families on a 1:1 basis and in a group setting.  * Provide a high-quality service to children, young people and their families, based on an assessment of need and is outcomes driven.  * Maintain an effective working relationships and channels of communications with colleagues, children, young people, and families.   * Be alert to child protection and safeguarding issues.  * organise achievement of work objectives daily.  * Support the team to retain accurate and contemporaneous records, using various IT systems    Let’s talk about you.  Our job description outlines the requirements of the role but the ‘must-haves' are:   * S/NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Early years/youth work or Health & Social Care.   * Experience of working in a health, early years or social care setting.  * Experience of preparing, organising, reviewing, and delivering individual and or group work.  * Ability to engage and work with children, young people, and their families.   * An awareness and an ability to identify and act upon safeguarding concerns.  * A working knowledge of working with an outcome-based approach to planning, delivering and reviewing services.  *  Flexibility to work to meet the needs of the service and client group.    Good to know.  Application Process    Please note we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.   There are five sections to complete: Personal Details, CV, Supporting Statement & Information, Equality & Diversity, Submission & Declaration.    Talent Pool   We know talent when we see it. Responsibilities
The worker will provide support to children and families through one-to-one work focusing on speech and language, as well as supporting families within group sessions.
