Description:
THE FOLLOWING IS ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Degree in Social Work
- SWE Registration
- Right to work within the UK
- Full, clean driving license and access to a vehicle
Halton Borough Council is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join its Duty and Assessment Team, based in the Halton area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social worker looking for a challenging and rewarding position within a supportive team environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct initial assessments.
- Manage a varied caseload of children and families in need of support.
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to safeguard children.
- Undertake home visits, build rapport with families, and ensure that appropriate interventions are put in place.
- Produce high-quality assessments and reports for management and court purposes.
- Respond swiftly to referrals, assessing risk and need to ensure timely and effective interventions. Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker (Degree/Diploma in Social Work).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Proven experience within a Duty and Assessment team or similar front-line social work.
- Strong understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and social work legislation.
- Ability to manage a complex caseload effectively while maintaining high-quality practice standards.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Car for work purposes
