Children’s Speech and Language Therapist ( Early Years, Mainstream Schools and Special Schools)
Do you want to develop your skills in meeting the needs of children and young people with speech language and communication difficulties in clinics, mainstream schools and special schools?
The Haringey Speech and Language Therapy Service works in clinics, special schools and all primary and secondary schools in Haringey alongside Specialist Language Support and Autism Teachers from the Local Authority.
We have Band 5 posts based within the Early Years and Mainstream Schools and Special School Services. There is the opportunity to work across two teams and develop your clinical skills in both areas. We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Speech and Language Therapist who is keen to work with children with speech language and communication difficulties in these settings.

This post will suit a newly qualified SLT, including those graduating this year, returning SLTs or SLTs from other specialities wishing to work in schools.
Our large and friendly team comprises newly qualified and experienced therapists. There are specialist SLTs for children with complex needs; emotional and behavioural difficulties; speech and voice disorders; deafness; fluency; selective mutism; DLD; learning difficulties and regional Makaton trainers who will be at hand to support you. You will also have your own clinical supervisor who will be able to offer you weekly, fortnightly or monthly supervision depending on your experience. A senior SLT will complete your competencies if needed, appraisals and Personal Development Plans with you.
Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
