CHILDREN’S TRAINEE HOMES MANAGER – RESIDENTIAL CHILDREN’S HOME | KINGS NORTON

Location: Kings Norton, Birmingham
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent
Are you an experienced Deputy Manager or Senior Practitioner ready to take the next step in your career? We are seeking a Trainee Homes Manager to join our dedicated team in a children’s residential home based in Kings Norton.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to grow into a Registered Manager role, with full support and guidance from an experienced senior leadership team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support the Registered Manager in day-to-day operations of the home
  • Lead and supervise the care team to ensure high standards of care and safeguarding
  • Develop leadership and management skills in preparation for registration with Ofsted
  • Promote a positive, nurturing, and structured environment for children aged 8–18
  • Build effective relationships with professionals, families, and regulatory bodies

About You:

  • Experience working in a children’s residential setting (minimum 2 years)
  • Currently a Deputy Manager, Team Leader, or Senior Residential Support Worker
  • Working towards or willing to complete Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (Children and Young People)
  • Passionate about supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, care planning, and trauma-informed practice
