The children’s Wellbeing Therapist will be providing early mental health intervention through community-based activities, liaison, consultation and therapeutic group work
This role is a unique and exciting opportunity to join an innovative team growing our children’s services across the West Midlands.
Your work will be across two core areas of the Charity: Community Engagement and Counselling:
1. You will liaise with schools to identify children to take part in after-school ‘Animal Assisted’ classes at a local riding school. Children will be invited to connect with horses through grooming, patting, caring, bonding, and a short, assisted ride*. After this intervention, you will work with the children to discover new ways to express their emotions through therapeutic artwork.
2. You will deliver counselling interventions and awareness workshops in schools to support children experiencing difficult emotions.
3. Have a small case load, supporting the Children’s Counselling Team
4. Deliver training sessions to colleagues, clients and partners as and when requested
5. Covering leave on the adult Single Point of Access Referral service (SPAR)
We are looking for someone who is creative, passionate and can bring new ideas to a growing charity.
*Please note, you will not be responsible for delivering horse-based activities
