ABOUT YOU:
We are looking for candidates with experience of working with children, young people and/or adults with a learning disability and/or autism who are able to manage challenging behaviour. Good communication and interpersonal skills are important for this post; as you will be required to work with a range of professionals as well as families and carers.
Knowledge of positive behaviour support interventions is important as well as an understanding of social care in particular in relation to safeguarding practice.

As a Positive Behaviour Support Worker you will be expected to adhere to support plans and implement behaviour interventions for children, young people and adults with learning disabilities and/or autism in their own homes. The ages of the individuals range from 10 – 18 years old.
This will involve working with the children and their families and staff on a rota basis.
Provide direct support to children who exhibit complex and challenging behaviour.
Manage the behaviour and to enable them to participate in a wide range of therapeutic and social activities.
Experience of working in a regulated Ofsted children’s home desirable.
Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in a Children and Young People related field
We will expect our PBS support staff to follow the clinical frameworks of Applied Behavioural Analysis and Positive Behavioural Support plans under the guidance of our Registered Children’s Manager.
Promote independence with daily activities, such as personal care, cooking, finance management where appropriate, and general housekeeping.
