QUALIFICATIONS:
· College degree preferred – degree in children, youth and family ministry a plus
· Experience developing and leading youth programs or camp experience
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Good organizational skills and ability to train volunteers to help with the youth
· Good computer skills and ability to utilize technology and social media
· Basic experience working with AV, multimedia and presentation software
· Work well with other staff
· Demonstrate good values, moral judgement and understanding of our Lutheran faith
· Handle any other responsibilities related to this position as needed, as directed by the pastoral staff
CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILY MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Coordinate and oversee all youth activities, from primary through high school. Activities could include, but not limited to: Retreats, white water rafting, national youth gathering, mission trips, fundraising, local outings and regular meetings.
· Lead Wednesday night youth meetings, work with pastoral staff teaching confirmation classes for 7th and 8th grades. Coordinate and lead participation at the confirmation retreat.
· Connect with the students and their families, keeping them informed of ongoing activities. Keep parents updated on ministry strategies and plans in a way that encourages partnership and involvement.
· Promote an environment where students feel connected to each other and feel safe to be who they were created to be; where each student is valued and celebrated.
· Participate in the Growth Team meetings.
· Attend all worship services, and prepare and deliver the children’s message.
· Coordinate and oversee a team of volunteers to assist with youth and family activities.
· Demonstrate the ability to connect with youth of all ages.
· Partner with other churches for participation in youth activities, participate in outreach events,and youth message boards.
· Interest in arts and music a plus.
DIGITAL MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Designs, builds, and maintains social media presence for EPLC and youth accounts.
· Manages communication calendar and promotes all events for EPLC.
· Ensures communication is constant, consistent and updated across all touchpoints (social media, website, newsletters, printed material etc.).
· Leads collaboration with staff to brainstorm new and creative growth/outreach strategies through digital and/or traditional marketing efforts.
· Measures effectiveness and reports on the performance of all marketing efforts.
