Position: Chinese (Mandarin) Instructor – Traditional & Simplified Characters

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dedicated and creative instructor to teach Chinese (Mandarin) using both traditional and simplified characters. This role offers the opportunity not only to teach but also to design and develop engaging teaching materials tailored to students’ needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficiency in both English and Mandarin (spoken and written)
  • Ability to clearly explain concepts in both languages
  • Prior experience teaching Chinese (Mandarin) and English is an asset
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to simplify complex content for student understanding
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
Responsibilities
  • Teach Chinese (Mandarin) using both traditional and simplified characters
  • Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials
  • Assign and mark homework and tests
  • Track and evaluate student progress, providing feedback to students and/or parents
  • Identify and adapt to students’ individual learning needs
  • Report student progress to the program director
