Description

OUR MISSION

QuantWare is the world’s leading manufacturer of superconducting quantum hardware. As a high growth start-up with a global customer base, our mission is to accelerate the advent of the quantum computer. We push the boundaries of what’s possible in our field. We work on making the world’s largest quantum processors, as fast as possible.
At QuantWare, we’re not just producing quantum hardware for the hyperscalers of tomorrow; we’re working on technology that will change the world. To make that ambition a reality, we need exceptional people who drive real impact. That’s where you come in.
As a Chip Fabrication & Assembly Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving the development of components that form the backbone of our 3D architecture. Your work will contribute to our ambitious goal of producing quantum processors with over 1000 qubits, a key milestone in advancing quantum computing technology. By joining us, you will have a direct hand in enabling groundbreaking research and shaping the future of scalable quantum computers.

YOUR PROFILE

You could be the new colleague we are looking for if you are passionate about quantum technology and:

  • have a technical background in mechanics, electronics, chemistry, physics or a related field;
  • have 4+ years of experience in chip fabrication, assembly and packaging;
  • have experience working in a cleanroom environment;
  • have hands-on experience with chip assembly techniques and tools, including alignment, pick-and-placement, and soldering;
  • are proficient in design software, such as AutoCAD and/or Inventor.

It’d be perfect if you also:

  • have experience in a quantum-related field, with knowledge of circuit quantum electrodynamics (cQED);
  • are familiar with cryogenic measurements;
  • and have knowledge of superconductivity.

If you’re excited about this opportunity and recognise yourself in most of the points above mentioned points, we’d love to hear from you!

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Nano Fabrication: Execute nano fabrication processes using techniques such as ALD, PECVD, evaporation, and DRIE contributing to the development of components crucial for advancing our 3D architecture.
  • Chip assembly: Conduct precision alignment and soldering to assemble chips. Assemble and test components to form the 3D architecture, performing mechanical and electrical analyses to ensure functionality and reliability.
  • Package design: Innovate and implement packaging solutions for next-generation, large-scale Quantum Processor Units (QPUs).
  • Process Enhancement: Explore novel materials and fabrication methodologies to enhance component quality and accelerate production throughput, driving continuous improvement in our fabrication processes. Make improvements in alignment and soldering tools to ensure efficient production and assembly of the 3D architecture on the long term.

You’ll be part of a high performing team of world-leading experts at the forefront of quantum technology on a mission to change the world. QuantWare offers a fast-paced environment where you can excel and become the best version of yourself, where you can shape and own your role, taking on significant responsibility from day one.

  • An excellent monthly salary, depending on experience, and holiday pay (a bonus of 8% of your annual salary, paid out once a year in May)
  • A very solid pension scheme (20% off your annual salary, minus the statutory offset, of which QuantWare contributes 63%). On top of that, we fully pay for your partner’s and orphan’s pension, plus disability premium waiver. For a secure future for you and your loved ones
  • We believe in giving and taking ownership, that’s why we let you decide on when and how to get your work done - as long as it gets done (i.e. through an open vacation policy, flexible working hours and hybrid working options)
  • For international colleagues, we provide support with relocation to the Netherlands, tailored to your personal circumstances (e.g. visa application, travel costs, temporary housing and support in applying for a 30% tax benefit)
  • Great extra benefits: the choice between a public transport business card or travel allowance, a development budget based on personal ambitions and need and plenty of social and health initiatives
