Currently, our rapidly growing team is in need of a Chiropodist who can work for us at our LMC Vaughan location We currently have a large base of patients available for a Chiropodist to begin with 2 days per week. Chiropody students expecting to attain their registration as of the summer of 2024 are welcome to apply.
More about the opportunity:
- 5 referring Endocrinologists onsite
- An existing patient base to begin with and grow from
- LMC has established a well-developed patient referral system from both our LMC Endocrinologists as well as external referring physicians. This allows us to efficiently build a larger patient base for you.
- Medical office assistant to support booking and billing of patients
- Direct support from LMCs Manager of Medical Education and Clinical Operations to assist with onboarding, product conversions, supplies, SOPs, IT etc.
- Support from Chiropody, Medical Director to provide clinical support with difficult or unique cases
- Thorough online LMC training programs to assist you with the onboarding process
Responsibilities:
- Full scope of practice Chiropody according to the standards of the College of Chiropodists of Ontario
- Providing patient care including and not limited to nail and callous care, wart treatments, treating chronic and acute wounds, performing soft tissue surgeries, biomechanical and gait analysis for offloading purposes.
- Collaborating with an inter-professional team including Endocrinologists, Nurses, Diabetes Educators, Pharmacists, etc.
- Ensuring treatment rooms and equipment are all well maintained
- Providing foot education to patients and other local professionals
Qualifications:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Expertise in providing care to individuals with diabetes
- Proficiency in use of computers
- Excellent decision making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to take initiative
- Willingness to work in a team environment
- Graduate Diploma from a recognized school of Chiropody with professional certification (D.Ch. or D.Pod.M.) Chiropody students expecting to attain their registration as of the summer of 2024 are welcome to apply.
- Member in good standing with College of Chiropodists without limitations
