The Chiropractor is primarily responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating chiropractic care to assist patients of North County Health Services (NCHS) in the treatment and prevention of health problems associated with the body’s muscular, nervous and skeletal systems. This will include the use of spinal adjustments, manipulation and other techniques to manage and improve patients' health concerns. Responsibilities & Duties: Diagnose health problems by reviewing patients' health and medical histories; and questioning, observing and examining patients, within the scope of training and certification. Arrange for diagnostic x-rays to be taken, when clinically appropriate. Collaborate with contracted radiologists in assessing clinical readings of diagnostic imaging. Evaluate the functioning of the neuro-musculoskeletal system and the spine using systems of chiropractic diagnosis. Create integrative care plans for patients. Advise patients about recommended courses of treatment. Provide neuro-musculoskeletal therapy, such as adjusting a patient's spinal column and other joints by hand to correct abnormalities caused by neurologic and kinetic articular dysfunction. Perform a series of manual adjustments to the spine, or other articulations of the body, in order to correct the musculoskeletal system in accordance with scope of training. Provide therapies such as heat, water, massage or ultrasound to a patient's injured areas, as appropriate. Counsel patients about health and lifestyle issues, such as exercise, stress management, nutrition, and sleeping habits. Make recommendations for care including supports, such as straps, tapes, braces or shoe inserts in accordance with scope of training. Work in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team-based care to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans to improve the overall health of patients, as needed. Maintain accurate and timely case histories of patients in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Participate in Quality Assurance Program including, audits, peer review, patient satisfaction and protocol development, as may be requested. Participate in utilization review and management, as may be requested. Comply with adopted NCHS clinical guidelines and reporting requirements. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree. Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) Degree from an accredited Chiropractic College. A valid and unrestricted California Practice License. A current BLS for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a practicing Chiropractor. Reliable Transportation Desired Qualifications: Bilingual in English and Spanish. Concentration in neurology, orthopedics or nutrition.
