Position Title: Chocolatier
Location: Abu Dhabi
Job Summary: A Chocolatier is a skilled artisan responsible for creating high-quality chocolates and chocolate-based products. The role involves designing, crafting, and decorating chocolates, ensuring consistency and excellence in taste, texture, and presentation. The Chocolatier will also be involved in developing new recipes, sourcing the best ingredients, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education & Experience:
  • Formal training in pastry arts, culinary arts, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Chocolatier or in a similar role in the confectionery industry.
  • Skills:
  • Expert knowledge of chocolate-making processes, including tempering, molding, and decorating.
  • Strong creative and artistic skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work with precision and maintain consistency in product quality.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
  • Personal Attributes:
  • Passion for chocolate and confectionery arts.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work under pressure.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
  • Chocolate Production:
  • Create a wide variety of chocolate products, including truffles, bars, pralines, and molded chocolates.
  • Temper chocolate to achieve the desired consistency and shine.
  • Mix, pour, and shape chocolates using molds or by hand.
  • Decorate and finish chocolates with precision and creativity.
  • Recipe Development:
  • Develop and experiment with new chocolate recipes and flavor combinations.
  • Stay updated with current trends in the chocolate industry to introduce innovative products.
  • Adjust recipes to meet customer preferences and dietary restrictions.
  • Ingredient Management:
  • Source high-quality ingredients, including cocoa beans, chocolate, nuts, and flavorings.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure that ingredients are fresh and available.
  • Maintain records of ingredients used, including allergens and sourcing information.
  • Quality Control:
  • Ensure that all products meet the company’s standards for taste, texture, and appearance.
  • Conduct regular taste tests and quality checks throughout the production process.
  • Address any inconsistencies or issues promptly and effectively.
  • Health & Safety:
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Ensure that all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Follow all safety procedures for handling equipment and ingredients.
  • Customer Interaction:
  • Assist with customer inquiries and special orders.
  • Provide samples and product information to customers as needed.
  • Participate in promotional events, tastings, and workshops.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with other kitchen staff, pastry chefs, and management to coordinate production.
  • Train and mentor junior staff or apprentices in chocolate-making techniques.
  • Contribute to team meetings and share ideas for product improvement and innovation.
