Description

We are seeking a passionate and talented Choreographer for our Something Rotten JR youth production. The ideal candidate will have a background in performance and experience working with youth ages 11-17. Rehearsals will run Thursdays 6-9pm and Sundays 2-5pm.
Please Note: This position may require hours beyond the expected 6-8 hour range per week during Show Week (Dec 15-20).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with children and youth ages 11 – 17
  • Experience with live performance
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • First Aid/CPR Training or willingness to complete
  • Vulnerable Sector Check

Responsibilities
  • Working with members of the creative team to create a positive learning environment while maintaining control of actors.
  • Helping the Director plan educational rehearsals, creating a rehearsal schedule so that all aspects of the show are covered.
  • Assess cast members’ abilities in dance and movement, as well as opportunities for growth.
  • Create and instruct the youth acting company in dances to be a part of the final performance.
  • Working with the creative team to carry out rehearsals, dress rehearsals, and bring the dramatic performance to completion on the stage.
    This position will work closely with a creative team (Director, Music Director, Stage Manager) and the General Manager.
