Job Description
Reporting to the CHPP Senior Electrical Engineer, the CHPP Control Systems Engineer will be responsible for managing the PLC, SCADA and MES systems across HVO’s CHPP sites. This role serves a key function in supporting the reliability and performance of the operation. This will include technical support, fault-finding, improvement initiatives and project delivery.

About the role:

  • Managing the control systems across the CHPP sites and continuously improving the control systems.
  • Maintain, debug and update PLC code for the CHPP sites PLC systems.
  • Maintain and update SCADA projects across the CHPP sites.
  • Maintain Honeywell Production Manager delay and production reporting systems.
  • Support the delivery of capital upgrade and improvement projects.
  • Maintain wireless communications links to allow remote sites and equipment to communicate with the wider control system.
  • Monitor and maintenance of networks to communicate with the wider site control system.

Roster and Location

  • Monday to Friday professional roster
  • Based at Hunter Valley Coal Preparation Plant

About You

  • Relevant qualification in Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in control systems engineering in an industrial or mining environment.
  • Experience with PLC and SCADA systems (Allen Bradley ControlLogix and Aveva PlantSCADA platforms), production and delay reporting systems and Siemens/CTI PLC platform (highly regarded).
  • Desire to continually improve control systems with a focus towards best practice including the prioritisation and delivery of improvements initiatives and projects.
  • Ability to build and foster strong working relationships within the CHPP department and with external consultants.
