About the role:We are currently seeking a day shift Electrician to join our Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) team at our Wilpinjong Mine. Our Wilpinjong mine is an open cut mine located 50 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high-quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.   Reporting to the CHPP Electrical Supervisor, the day shift electrician will utilise their skills and qualifications to maintain fixed plant used to prepare coal for transportation to domestic power generators and export shipping terminals.    Key duties of the role include, but not limited to:  Responsible to the CHPP Electrical Supervisor for the inspection, repair, maintenance and approved modifications of electrical equipment. Maintain complete equipment records and documentation related to tests, maintenance, modifications, and repairs. Responsible for following the test, maintenance, and installation procedures established as acceptable for the equipment under the care of this department. May assist in the development of procedures or the checkout of electrical systems where established procedures are inadequate and non-existent. Recommend improvements and modifications of the electrical equipment to the CHPP Electrical Supervisor through the continuous improvement process. Comply with all established safety rules, company policies, and procedures. Assist in maintaining an adequate supply of electrical spare parts. Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas. Ability to read and understand technical manuals and prints, ability to do various forms of paperwork (written), and use of simple algebra are each essential to this position.
