Description SUMMARY This individual is responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and beautiful South Campus. The ideal candidate will have skills in basic construction, plumbing, and electrical systems. The ideal candidate will also be familiar with operating a range of power tools and vehicles, including Gators, tractors, skid steers, and forklifts. Knowledge of landscaping and irrigation systems is preferred. Preferred attributes include physical stamina, dexterity, reliability, patience, a strong desire to serve within a covenantal Christian community, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. This is a full time, 12 month position eligible for benefits. Normal assigned work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Responsible for miscellaneous building/classroom repairs. Mows, trims, edges, and fertilizes grassy athletic fields and common areas. Trims trees and shrubbery. Ensures the campus is free of debris and remains presentable to our community and visitors at all times. Installs, maintains, and repairs irrigation systems. Daily inspects outdoor areas and corrects or reports safety hazards. Observes safe work practices. Safely operates and maintains a wide variety of hand and power tools. Safely operates and maintains a wide variety of job related vehicles. Supervises Maintenance Personnel (full time, part time, volunteers). Assumes responsibility for opening the campus grounds and facilities Demonstrates good fiscal responsibility in the management of the budget. Coordinates with outside vendors and contractors. Coaches and instructs subordinates in processes and tasks. Coordinates repairs to facilities and mechanical systems. Perform, or cause to be performed, maintenance of all motorized maintenance equipment. (mowers, tractors, golf carts, turf vehicles, paint sprayers, etc). Sets up and tears down needed facilities and furnishings for campus events. Orders supplies pertaining to the job function. Readily performs other maintenance-related duties as assigned by the Director of Operations or Head of Schools. Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS To be considered, a candidate must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and must pass a background investigation. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a school environment consisting of K-5th grade students, and collaborating with other school employees and departments.
