Wells Fargo is looking for an experienced Senior Securities Operations Specialist to join the International Securities Settlement Team in Corporate and Investment Banking Operations. This role involves overseeing fixed income prematching and ensuring the timely and accurate settlement of international fixed income and equity trading activities across all WF entities on the settlement date.
The team collaborates with global custodians and various business partners, including Sales and Trading desks, DCM, Middle Office, Risk and Control Teams, to manage exception-driven events. These events encompass fail management, reconciliations, buy-ins, repo settlements, DCM primary activities, stock loan support, prime brokerage support, re-alignment services, corporate actions, 144A/RegS exchanges, ADR conversions, security and cash position breaks, as well as asset segregation processing.
In this role, you will:
- Assist in lifecycle support for institutional trade flow.
- Focus on not only daily BAU, but also reviewing and approving trades and asset segregation, and releasing wires. Review and reconcile global cash and security movements and daily balancing with our Global Custodians, also CSDR fees.
- Review daily breaks reason and report to CASS team timely and appropriately.
- Lead or participate in moderately complex lifecycle initiatives and support tasks, especially upcoming market change UK & EU T+1 and business initiative Repo Triparty.
- Identify opportunity for process improvements within Securities Operations, work on operational efficiency by using existing automation tools.
- Review and analyze moderately complex operational tasks or challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Independently resolve moderately complex issues on a full process within a trade environment while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements; may lead team to meet deliverables.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and mid-level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals; may lead projects, teams or serve as a mentor for junior roles.
- Manage expertise in the following operational processes including securities settlement services, cash payments, customer service, funding operations, claims management and general ledger reconciliation.
- Resolve moderately complex escalated issues within the scope of responsibility in Security Operations.
- Exercise independent judgment in understanding trade settlement workflow controls to minimalize the effects of operational breakdowns.
- Lead or contribute to implementation of projects and new or revised processes and procedures that require coordination among operation teams and perform analysis for initiatives that support business strategies making decisions on matters with financial impact and risk.
- Mentor and assist associates and juniors.
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in CIB Operations, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- Solid understanding of securities operations, settlement processes, and global market infrastructure.
- Knowledge and expertise on Broadridge Systems.
