  Commodity Manager Machinery Manufacturing   About the position The Category Manager (Various Categories) is a highly visible procurement team leader, collaborating with multiple positions. The Category Manager's major responsibilities are the development, implementation, and execution of category strategies to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO). The Category Manager will also handle cultivating, managing, and maintaining strategic supplier relationships, as well as implementing and maintaining continuous improvement projects. The Category Manager position is a valuable strategic role within the procurement department, contributing to the long-term goals as well as day-to-day operations.   What you will do: * Develop and execute cost reduction strategies to reduce TCO through cross-functional collaborations and supplier negotiations/partnerships. * Demonstrated ability to manage sourcing decisions with awareness of import/export regulations, tariffs, duties, and trade compliance to ensure total landed cost accuracy and business continuity. * Serve as an internal resource and liaison to other areas within the organization regarding supplier capabilities, technologies, market conditions, and business risk/opportunities. * Maintain and present category strategy to leadership. Coordinate and implement Master Service Agreements (MSA), Long Term Agreements (LTA), Warranty Agreements, and collaborative partnerships. * Manage supplier performance through various metrics such as on-time delivery (OTD), supplier report cards, and quality notifications (QN). * Lead cost negotiations, payment term discussions, and contract implementations with strategic suppliers. * Track, report, and reconcile all material price variants (MPV)/purchase price variants (PPV). * Effectively communicate with internal and external customers on all aspects of category. * Develop and implement lean strategies that align with Operational and Sustainability goals through methods such as Kanban, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), stocking agreements, etc. * Provide direction and support to team regarding category strategy. * Confidently present to all organization levels within the company. * Ability to troubleshoot issues of varying complexity as they arise. * Lead & support various intradepartmental process improvement projects. * All other tasks and projects assigned. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree required, preferred in Supply Chain Management, Operations or Engineering. * 5+ years sourcing experience or relevant education normally gained by completing degree in supply chain or operations related field. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills to professionally interact with internal and external stakeholders at all levels in the organization. * Highly self-motivated, ability to work under pressure, manage and prioritize multiple objectives concurrently, attend to details, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. * Proven ability to analyze situations and accurately take effective actions. * Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Suite, MRP/ERP experience required. * Ability to maintain composure during rapidly changing situations. * Capacity to work independently as well as within a team-oriented, collaborative environment. * Understanding of manufacturing processes, cost drivers, and market dynamics for assigned commodities. Nice to have: * Experience in Steel and Hydraulic categories preferred. * Supply Chain Management certification, or ability to achieve, preferred. * Prior EPICOR experience preferred. Job Dimensions: * Typical office environment as it pertains to lighting, temperature, and noise level when in administrative / operations offices. * Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard and mouse, and to handle other computer components. * Able to travel both domestically and internationally, approximately 20%.   Work Location: * This opportunity is based out of a choice of location: IronCraft, Athens, TN -OR- based out of CID, Denton, NC. Candidates should prepare for an on-site work environment. What Do You Need? * Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain or Business * Institute of Supply Management (ISM) certification (CPSM, CPM) or equivalent, preferred. * Minimum of 5 years of supply chain experience; sourcing technical and mechanical/electrical equipment-related components or equivalent preferred * Demonstrated experience in negotiation, forecasting, leading cross-functional teams, working with various levels of management, understanding commodity markets, partnering with engineers, and working with and developing international vendors. * Experience in sourcing parts/assemblies globally (Mexico, India, China and Europe) strongly desired * Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite * Excellent written and verbal communication * Strong interpersonal, facilitation and leadership skills * Strong analytical abilities and research skills, including using internet sources as a resource. * Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints * Understanding of enterprise purchasing and planning systems such as Epicor and analytical tools
