Description
The College of Integrative Studies (CIS) at Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applications for a part-time instructor with a track record in excellent teaching at the tertiary level to teach Weather and Climate. This course explores the fundamental principles governing atmospheric processes, weather patterns, and climate systems through a combination of theoretical concepts, historical perspectives, and practical applications, through which students will develop a scientific understanding of the Earth’s atmosphere, its energy budget, and the physical processes that drive weather and climate. The course should also cover severe weather systems, including tropical cyclones (hurricanes), thunderstorms, and tornadoes, alongside modern forecasting techniques and computational tools. Singapore Management University is a research university committed to an interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum. Undergraduate classes are capped at 48 students. Interested applicants should apply via SMU Career site providing a cover letter; CV; evidence of previous teaching feedback and two references. The positions are open to scholars from relevant fields, including, but not exclusive to, the fields of climate and environmental science, broadly construed. The successful candidate would be employed under a contract of service (Adjunct)
Responsibilities
