The College of Integrative Studies (CIS) at Singapore Management University (SMU) invites applications for an Adjunct Teaching Mentor for Redesigning Capital for Planet. Key Responsibilities Program Familiarity Understand the goals and structure of SMU-X, course learning outcomes, instructional flow, assessment, and deliverables outlined in the course materials. Be conversant with the SMU-X Course Guide, including policies on project reporting, expense guidelines, and required documentation. Team Mentorship Mentor assigned student teams three times per module per team (≈1 hour per team session, in person when possible; otherwise via Zoom/WebEx/Teams). Provide timely, constructive written and verbal feedback on drafts, final reports, and presentation materials. Stakeholder & Class Engagement Coordinate with the SMU-X faculty to recruit relevant guest speakers, panelists, and technical/industry experts. Participate in mandatory course events (project kickoff, midpoint/rehearsal, final presentations). Join faculty meetings (as needed, especially for multi-section/capstone coordination) to align on academic and operational decisions. Sponsor & Communications Together with faculty, engage the project sponsor at minimum three points: post-kickoff, mid-point review, and final presentation; capture and relay sponsor feedback to SMU-X Office/School. Alert faculty promptly to any unusual issues involving students, teams, sponsors, or project scope. Quality Assurance Support faculty in ensuring projects meet SMU and course academic standards, including integrity of methods, evidence, and outcomes. Singapore Management University is a research university committed to an interdisciplinary and integrated curriculum. Minimum class size per section: 25 students.
