Description

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Truck-mate software is an asset but not essential.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel & Word), basic knowledge and understanding of TMS applications
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining composure.
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal), with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities (including conflict resolution).
  • Solid understanding of logistics and transportation, particularly in Less-than-Truckload (LTL) operations.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic dispatch environment to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • One year of experience dispatching freight and knowledge of the transportation industry required.
  • Minimum education, High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and monitor dispatch and dock operations to ensure proper loading and timely deliveries.
  • Communicate clearly with drivers, warehouse staff, and internal departments (Customer Service, Accounting, etc.) to maintain smooth operations.
  • Manage carrier selection, dispatch shipments, update orders, and track shipments to ensure on-time pickup and delivery.
  • Follow up on customer inquiries and troubleshoot any issues related to orders.
  • Enforce compliance with safety rules, regulations, and company policies.
  • Analyze operations to identify and implement opportunities for improved efficiency.
  • Multitask effectively to handle various logistics and administrative tasks as needed.
