AGORA INTERNSHIP: SOCIAL MEDIA & EVENTS INTERN (PART-TIME, IN-PERSON)

London-based | £15/hour | 20 hours/week | 3-month contract | Potential full-time offer
About Agora
Agora is a platform bringing strangers together through curated, real-life experiences — no swiping, no endless scrolling. From dinner parties and creative workshops to immersive themed events, we help people meet in meaningful ways. Think of us as the antidote to digital overload — rooted in fun, creativity, and real human connection.
What We’re Looking For

We’re on the hunt for a creative, energetic, and highly collaborative intern who:

  • Has a strong social media sense and knows how to shoot, edit, and publish engaging video and photo content
  • Follows Gen Z and Millennial trends and knows how to make them relevant to a brand
  • Is comfortable pitching ideas, thinking visually, and collaborating with the wider team
  • Has a bubbly personality, thrives in fast-paced environments, and loves bringing people together
  • Can support across teams — from social media to event setup and guest management
  • Is a generalist — this is a startup, meaning you will work in different roles and wear a few hats, so there’s always a new challenge or something new to write
  • Is comfortable working weekends, evenings, and in-person across different London venues

What You’ll Do

  • Have autonomy to plan events for our user base
  • Record and produce video/photo content at our events and behind the scenes
  • Propose creative ideas for content, trends, and campaigns
  • Help manage our social channels and ensure timely publishing
  • Attend and support events: help with setup, guest flow, logistics, and making sure the vibe is right
  • Assist the team in other aspects
  • Collaborate with marketing, events, and product to turn moments into magic
  • Learn, grow, and contribute your voice to the brand

What You Bring

  • A creative background or just a sharp creative eye. Have worked in the events industry or in an events-focused role
  • Comfortable with tools like Instagram, TikTok, CapCut, Canva, or Adobe
  • Confident shooting on your phone or camera
  • You have a good knowledge of London in terms of trendy spots, restaurants, etc., with any connections to anyone in the field
  • Experience working in a team setting
  • You’re resourceful, proactive, and you genuinely like people

Bonus Points If You:

  • Have a portfolio, Instagram/TikTok page, or past projects to show — please provide a link
  • Have hosted your own events, meetups, or helped bring people together IRL
  • Have a flexible schedule and want to be part of something that’s still scrappy, growing, and exciting

Logistics

  • Pay: £15/hour
  • Hours: ~20 hours/week, hybrid remote meetings, hosting/attending events, assisting in marketing and more
  • Location: London-based events (travel reimbursed)
  • Contract: 3-month internship (Aug–November), with potential for full-time hire (£32,500 + equity) — dependent on how much work you put in and how the events base in London grows

Perks

  • Paid travel across London
  • Company events and lots of free food
  • A fast-moving, supportive team where your ideas actually get heard
  • The chance to grow into a full-time Events Coordinator → Events Lead role
