Please visit our website: www.turnerandtownsend.com Job Description We are seeking a seasoned and proactive Construction Manager with a strong background in civil engineering to lead and oversee infrastructure projects from planning through execution. This role is critical in ensuring that civil works—such as roads, bridges, water systems, and structural foundations—are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The Construction Manager will be responsible for: Developing and executing comprehensive construction strategies for civil engineering projects. Coordinating and supervising all phases of construction, both onsite and offsite. Ensuring compliance with engineering standards, building codes, and safety regulations. Reviewing project plans and specifications to schedule deliverables and estimate costs. Managing subcontractors, construction teams, and liaising with engineers and consultants. Overseeing budget preparation, cost control, and risk mitigation. Ensuring quality assurance and adherence to environmental and safety protocols. Maintaining strong communication with stakeholders to protect client reputation and project integrity. Qualifications Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field. Minimum 8 years of experience managing civil construction projects. Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable. Proven experience in infrastructure development, including roads, utilities, drainage, and structural works. Familiarity with local and international civil engineering codes, standards, and permitting processes. Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting civil engineering drawings and specifications. Skilled in project management tools such as MS Project, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of construction delivery methods, contracts, and entitlement/permitting processes. Strong understanding of geotechnical, structural, and environmental engineering principles. Certifications: PMI or PMP certification is a plus. Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA) are advantageous. Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of civil engineering construction activities. Approve and sign off on construction-related plans and decisions across all project packages. Review contractor designs for compliance with engineering standards and safety requirements. Identify and manage design changes and variations within the scope of civil works. Ensure implementation of the project quality plan and conduct regular audits. Resolve technical queries and disputes related to civil construction documentation. Conduct and oversee design safety risk assessments and ensure timely resolution of issues. Provide technical input to quality assurance processes and construction methodologies. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to resolve construction-related challenges. Deliver technical and commercial evaluations of contractor proposals and construction plans. Skills & Competencies Ability to assess project variances and develop strategic solutions. Advanced understanding of budgeting, cost estimation, and financial analysis. Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and stakeholder engagement. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage subcontractors effectively. Skilled in making informed judgments to keep projects on track.
