This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for managing and supervising construction crews to ensure that projects are delivered on time, to specification, and with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity. Our work spans a diverse range of civil construction projects, including earthworks, three waters, utilities installation, roading structures, and emergency response works. You will play a pivotal role across this varied scope, planning, coordinating, and supervising activity on site.  A strong people leader, you will support the development of your team through training, coaching, and clear direction Key Responsibilities * Organise, direct and monitor project operations, ensuring all tasks and priorities are planned and resourced effectively. * Supervise and support crews on site, including providing hands on guidance and training where required. * Coordinate subcontractors to ensure their work aligns with project objectives. * Manage site costs, equipment, plant, and materials to minimise wastage and downtime. * Liaise with clients, residents, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and positive relationships. * Monitor compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) requirements, promoting a culture of Zero Harm.     Nga pūkenga matua | Important Skills   To be successful in this role, you will bring: * A proven track record of supervising teams in the construction industry. * Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills. * The ability to make sound decisions and provide clear direction under pressure. * A proactive and solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills.   Ko wai mātou | Our Organisation  Want to know more about what it is like to work at Downer?
