About the role Our Civil Design Engineers are responsible for delivering high-quality civil and structural design solutions across water, wastewater and waste infrastructure projects, from proposal through to construction and commissioning. This includes preparing preliminary and detailed designs, engineering calculations, quantity take-offs and cost estimates while ensuring designs are safe, constructible and compliant with relevant local and international standards. You will work closely with project managers, multidisciplinary engineering teams and external consultants to ensure integrated design outcomes are delivered on time and within budget. The role involves managing multiple design packages, supporting design change processes, and providing technical input during both the design and construction phases. During construction, you will provide engineering support to site teams, reviewing methodologies, temporary works and contractor submissions to ensure alignment with design intent, quality requirements and HSE expectations. You will assist in resolving technical queries, addressing non-conformances and verifying that works are delivered to specification. You will also contribute to continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned, supporting internal standards development, and promoting best practice across safety, quality and technical delivery within the engineering team. Who we are looking for About you You are a delivery-focused Civil Engineer with 5–7 years’ experience in civil and structural design, ideally within water, wastewater or environmental infrastructure. You bring strong technical capability across design, quantity take-offs and cost estimation, combined with a strong HSE mindset, excellent coordination skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. You value quality, accountability and collaboration, and are motivated to contribute to a culture of trust, learning and continuous improvement. Key requirements include: · Degree in Civil Engineering and Professional Engineer registration · Proven experience in civil/structural design for infrastructure projects · Proficiency with CAD and design tools (e.g. Civil 3D, STAAD) · Strong knowledge of engineering standards, quality systems and HSE practices · Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across project teams · Experience gained in water & wastewater projects highly regarded · Experience gained within a Tier 2 contractor environment highly regarded SUEZ is an equal opportunity employer and we welcome and encourage applications from Indigenous Australians and Torres Strait Islander people.
