Our Opportunity As part of our continued growth in Australia, HDR is currently seeking a Civil Drafter at intermediate to senior level to contribute to the technical delivery on a diverse range of challenging infrastructure projects. You will work closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to produce accurate, consistent and buildable drafting outputs. The role also provides opportunities to contribute to HDR’s digital engineering and BIM initiatives, supporting innovation in drafting standards, processes and tools across the Brisbane practice. Responsibilities Prepare civil drafting and documentation for road and transport infrastructure projects using AutoCAD. Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and project managers to deliver coordinated and efficient drafting outcomes. Apply standard drafting and engineering procedures in line with project requirements. Provide guidance and support to other drafters and technicians, as appropriate. Maintain a high level of quality, accuracy and consistency across all drafting outputs. Assist with the development, implementation, and ongoing use of BIM systems aligned with HDR’s global processes and local market requirements. Support innovation and continuous improvement in Design/CAD workflows, tools, and standards. Assist with the integration of design outputs across platforms and systems to support project delivery. Contribute to safety and quality leadership aligned with HDR’s “Drive to Zero” initiative. Support HDR’s inclusive, collaborative culture and represent the business at technical forums where appropriate. About You Typically, a minimum 5 years’ experience as a Civil Drafter ideally within road or transport infrastructure projects. Experience delivering documentation in accordance with relevant Australian and Queensland standards (DTMR experience highly regarded). Strong capability in AutoCAD, with experience using ProjectWise. Experience with software such as 12D, 12D Synergy, and Navisworks is advantageous. Solid understanding of civil construction standards and documentation requirements. Competent in Microsoft Office and other relevant project software. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage deadlines and work effectively under pressure. Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work within multidisciplinary and culturally diverse teams.
