The Role

We are looking for a motivated Civil Engineer to contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of our construction projects. You will be responsible for overseeing projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your technical skills to a variety of challenging and rewarding projects in the Auckland construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Planning, designing, and overseeing the construction of civil engineering projects such as drainage, roading, and other structures.
• Determining construction methods, materials, and quality standards, and interpreting specifications and technical drawings.
• Organising and directing site labour and coordinating the delivery of construction materials, plant, and equipment.
• Preparing sketches, plans, and designs for civil engineering works.
• Estimating material costs and ensuring finished works are within specifications, regulations, and contract provisions.
• Conducting site inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Collaborating with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A minimum of two years of relevant work experience in the construction industry.
• A recognised tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, such as:
• A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (NZQF Level 7/8), or
• A New Zealand Diploma in Engineering (Civil) (NZQF Level 6) or equivalent qualification.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence is preferred.

Job Details

• Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
• Hours: A minimum of 30 hours per week guaranteed, with typical hours being 40-45 per week.
