Key services provided to developers in this service line include site assessment and due diligence, planning approvals and engineering design through to completion of construction. Job Description We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of electrical solutions across street lighting, traffic signals, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects throughout Queensland. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-impact transport infrastructure projects while growing your leadership capability within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Specifically: Lead and deliver electrical design projects across public lighting, traffic signals, and ITS Undertake feasibility studies, concept development, and detailed design Prepare and submit EQL documentation for Rate 2 and Rate 3 lighting designs Develop technical documentation including reports, specifications, BoQs, scopes of work, and datasheets Provide site support, construction advice, and commissioning assistance Ensure compliance with EQL, TMR, council, and Australian standards Assist in improving internal processes, procedures, and design quality Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated design outcomes Build and maintain strong client relationships and support business growth Manage budgets, forecasts, risk, and commercial performance Support team development, mentoring, and a positive project culture Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent) 3+ years’ experience in electrical design, ideally within transport infrastructure Proven experience in: Public lighting design within EQL (Rate 2 & Rate 3) Traffic signals design (TMR, BCC, and other councils) ITS experience (desirable) Strong knowledge of Australian standards including AS/NZS 1158 and AS/NZS 4282 Experience with design tools such as Perfect Lite, AGI32, PowerPac, and AutoCAD Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences Additional Information At Colliers, we are enterprising.
