JOB DESCRIPTION

Quandel Consultants is an employee-owned engineering firm specializing in planning and designing passenger, commuter and freight rail projects. We are currently working on multiple rail projects in various phases of development, including planning, environmental clearance, preliminary design, final design, and construction. We are seeking civil engineers seeking to focus their career on railroad construction project oversight who excel working in a team environment on transportation projects – entry level to 5 years of experience for positions in our Chicago, IL and St. Charles, IL offices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Construction Engineering
  • Registered as an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) or take the FE exam within 6 months
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

HELPFUL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Primavera, ARCGIS, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley Microstation, Bentley InRoads

    Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

  • Performing Quality Control on contractor supplied materials
  • Computing pay item quantity calculations and review contractor pay statements
  • Preparing as-built drawings
  • Preparing critical path method Gantt chart schedules
  • Preparing plans, specifications and engineer’s estimates
  • Writing technical reports to support the engineering decision-making process
