DLZ Currently has a Civil Engineer opportunity in Columbus, OH. Duties: Perform close conduit and open channel hydraulic modeling and design of storm/combined sewer systems. Perform analysis and design of water distribution systems including transient analysis. Perform 1D and 2D hydraulic modeling of storm/combined sewer and riverine systems. Perform open channel modeling of streams to evaluate bridge structures and perform scour computations and sediment transport analyses. Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis for a variety of projects which include dam safety evaluations, flood control measures, yield analysis, watershed planning, and drought mitigation. Perform occasional site visits within commuting distance of office to support H&H analyses and design elements. Assist in the preparation of reports, plans, feasibility studies and studies aimed at evaluating alternative designs for clients. Perform floodplain analysis including preparation of CLOMRs/LOMRs for FEMA. Help to prepare proposal scope and cost estimates. Interact with clients on an as-needed basis. Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan. Occasional site visits within commuting distance of office. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. 1 year of experience as Civil Engineer or related that includes the following: Hydraulic and hydrological (1D/2D) modeling in close conduit and open channel systems; Sewer system modeling using PCSWMM (1D & 2D), SSA; Watershed and riverine systems modeling using HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D); Water distribution systems modeling with WaterGEMS and Hammer; GIS software, such as ArcGIS or QGIS; Programming languages such as R script, Python, or other scripts for data processing and analysis; Civil3D and CAD.
