RETTEW seeks a motivated and experienced Engineer 2 to assist our Transportation Team. The ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of experience and hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license. This role requires a strong background in open roads and PennDOT design. Experience with the Pennsylvania Turnpike and West Virginia projects is a significant plus.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum four years of relevant experience in transportation engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in open roads and PennDOT design.
  • Experience with Pennsylvania Turnpike and West Virginia projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in engineering software and tools.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Familiarity with AASHTO standards and guidelines.
  • Experience with project management and coordination.
  • Knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices in transportation engineering.

Responsibilities

TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform moderate design tasks including computations and analysis.
  • Develop and/or assists with tasks such as field activities including construction activities, material testing, CADD work, permit applications, and report writing.
  • Consult project team about regulations impacting projects; performs regulation research as needed.
  • Assist in the design and development of transportation projects, including highways, roads, and bridges.
  • Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with PennDOT standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections as needed.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
