Working within the context of the communities we serve, we provide planning,  Your Opportunity The role of a Civil Engineer-in-Training will include a variety of tasks from work on smaller projects to being a member of a team on larger projects; projects that are geographically varied and cross a spectrum of complexity in the land development, municipal and transportation sectors. We value mentorship for effective career growth and so your work would be completed under the guidance and supervision of a senior engineer/designer. As a Civil EIT, you will assist project teams on aspects of civil engineering design such as grading, roadways, utilities & servicing, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control. You should be able to evaluate, select, specify, and engineer systems or products for a project, and you will perform a variety of tasks including drafting, calculations, cost estimating, project coordination, and field work. The Stantec Community Development group in British Columbia provides consulting services to both private and public sector clients across the province. While focusing on work in British Columbia, the successful candidate will also have opportunities to collaborate with our Canada West Community Development teams and support their project needs as opportunities arise.  Your Key Responsibilities * Perform civil design using knowledge of relevant software programs. * Work with other engineering and non-engineering disciplines and professionals in the completion of the project under the direction of a senior engineer/designer or project manager. * Perform field work as directed by a senior engineer/supervisor. * Perform calculations to analyze and design civil system components using company standard software and proprietary manufacturer software. * Assist with engineering duties on projects of various complexity. * Assist with collecting data and gathering information to support design decisions. * Assist in interpretation and verifying compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards and practices. * Perform a variety of tasks which may include analyzing proposed project solutions to ensure design integrity, reliability, resource efficiency and cost effectiveness. * Contribute in project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, clients, and other various project stakeholders * Perform other duties as assigned by senior engineering staff. Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
