CIVIL ENGINEER – MELTON WEST VIC

Kogan People Solutions, recruiters, are delighted to work our client, a highly regarded construction services firm proudly developing high quality, sustainable, innovative, and exceptional living spaces.
They now seek a talented and experienced Civil Engineer to become a key part in shaping the future of their business alongside an experienced team. The role is full-time and ongoing, with an attractive salary in the range of $80k to $90k plus superannuation per annum.
Location – Based in Melton West, VIC but the firm services western, eastern, and northern suburbs of Greater Melbourne, along with Ballarat and Geelong.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Develop detailed project plans and designs for living spaces, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Determine construction methods, safety documentation, materials and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, engineering plans, construction methods and procedures in accordance with plans.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, suppliers, supervisors, site managers, and local authorities to ensure smooth project execution and timely delivery of materials.
  • Oversee daily site operations, including weekend and night shift work, ensuring all construction activities are conducted safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reports, tracking progress and providing updates to stakeholders.
  • Ensure all projects comply with safety and environmental regulations, implementing best practices for a safe working environment, and sustainability and waste management.
  • Estimate material quantities and labour requirements, managing project budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and financial efficiency.
  • Inspect and supervise the delivery of materials and equipment.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO POSITIVELY ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience of at least 1 year, preferably more, in civil engineering, ideally in the construction of living spaces.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for project planning and design.
