Summary Sambatek is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer to join our Land Development team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career civil engineer who is eager to grow their technical skills, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to high-quality civil site design projects. In this position, you’ll support the design and delivery of commercial land development projects by assisting with site design, plan production, and coordination across project teams. You’ll work closely with Project Managers, senior engineers, surveyors, and designers to develop practical, constructible solutions from concept through construction. Work Location: In office Tuesday-Thursday (with hybrid option on Mondays & Friday after training period) Expected Compensation Range: $32-36 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications) Pay Rate Type: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week Responsibilities Assist with civil site design using Civil 3D, including grading, earthwork modeling, utilities, and stormwater systems Support the preparation of construction documents such as grading plans, erosion and sediment control plans, utility plans, and details Perform basic calculations related to stormwater management, utilities, and site layout under the guidance of senior engineers Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, surveyors, and CAD staff to produce coordinated and accurate plan sets Review and utilize survey data, geotechnical reports, zoning requirements, and due-diligence materials Support permitting efforts and agency coordination with municipalities and other regulatory entities Assist with construction-phase services, including responding to RFIs and reviewing submittals, as needed Learn and apply company standards, quality control procedures, and best practices Contribute to a collaborative team environment that values communication, learning, and accountability Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an accredited program 0–2 years of experience in civil engineering, internships included Exposure to or coursework using Civil 3D; experience with grading and site design is a plus Interest in commercial land development and site design Basic understanding of grading, utilities, stormwater management, and erosion control concepts Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills Eagerness to learn, ask questions, and grow professionally in a team-based environment Physical Demands and Work Environment Work is primarily performed in an office environment Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds Benefit Information Regular full-time employees will have access to: Medical, dental, and vision plans HSA and FSA options Employer-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage Employer-paid life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment insurance Employee assistance program Voluntary benefits such as additional life insurance coverage, accident coverage, and critical illness coverage Paid time off and holidays Retirement 401(k) plan with company match Starting January 1, 2026, eligible Minnesota employees will be covered under Minnesota Paid Family & Medical Leave (PFML), providing paid, job-protected time away from work for family, medical, or parental needs Sambatek, LLC is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in its workforce.
