JOB SUMMARY
This position serves as the Project Engineer for the District 1 Major Projects Group supporting the Construction Manager on the $1.8 billion Blatnik Bridge Design-Build replacement project through preconstruction and construction phases. The incumbent provides technical expertise, construction oversight, and contract administration to ensure proper program execution and compliance with Department, State, Local, and Federal procedures, regulations, and standards.
This position emphasizes CPM Schedule Reviews, Contract Revisions, Invoice Reviews, and Environmental Compliance while providing leadership and troubleshooting for bridge, grading, and civil construction operations. The incumbent must anticipate and resolve design and construction issues proactively, demonstrate excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and function as a high-level team player within the Design-Build procurement method. This position collaborates closely with Major Projects Supervisors and all MnDOT functional units, WisDOT project staff, consultants, and contractors.
This position is located at the Duluth Office in Duluth, MN and may have the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
