We embrace challenging projects and work hard to help our clients find success. Summary Sambatek is looking for an entry-level Project Engineer to join our transportation team. In this role, you’ll work closely with experienced engineers to support a variety of transportation projects for County and State clients. You’ll help prepare project documents, learn industry standards and processes, and build your skills while contributing to meaningful work. Expected start date: May/June 2026 Work Location: Hybrid, in office for training phase Expected Compensation Range: $31.25-37.00 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications) Pay Rate Type: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week Responsibilities Contribute to highway projects in preliminary design phase or plan development phase Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes Participate in quality review processes Perform CAD drafting in MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads Designer Perform subtasks for a task lead or project manager as part of a collaborative team Spend time in the field, in addition to the office, to perform construction inspection, material testing, and see transportation project sites to grow as a designer Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering 0-3 years of relevant experience Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred Basic working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation Experience using Bentley GEOPAK and corridor modeling experience preferred Strong self-motivation and communication skills (verbal and written) Ability to manage tasks on a project with strong attention to detail Physical Demands and Work Environment Work is primarily performed in an office environment Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds Benefit Information Regular full-time employees will have access to: Medical, dental, and vision plans HSA and FSA options Employer-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage Employer-paid life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment insurance Employee assistance program Voluntary benefits such as additional life insurance coverage, accident coverage, and critical illness coverage Paid time off and holidays Retirement 401(k) plan with company match Sambatek, LLC is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in its workforce.
