Job details: Develop and analyze vehicular and pedestrian crash data from Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) databases Conduct traffic safety-related studies for projects contracted with the GDOT using technical tools Assist with road safety audits, signal warrant analysis, signal timing/operations, traffic signal design, and Intersection Control Evaluations (ICE) analysis Prepare traffic engineering study reports, transportation concept reports, and roadway safety audit reports using technical tools Design intersection improvements such as turn lane additions, roundabouts, and restricted crossing u-turns Telecommuting permitted up to 4 days per week Qualifications Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or a related field of study and 2 years of experience in job offered, or as Traffic Associate, Traffic Engineer, or related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geographic Information Science, or a related field of study and 0 years of experience. Employer will accept experience and skills gained in pursuit of university-level degree via coursework, projects, or internships. Skills may be gained concurrently. Experience in the following: 1. Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint 2. Traffic capacity analysis software including Synchro 3. Engineering CAD tools including MicroStation or AutoCAD 4. Geographic Information System (GIS) software including ArcGIS or QGIS 5. Google Earth 6. Project planning tools including MS Project and/or Primavera 7.
