We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Civil CAD Technician (Structures) to support the Structures Technical Office within a Semi-State organisation. This position plays a key role in assisting with the design and drafting of railway-related structural works, including maintenance and renewal projects for bridges, stations, tunnels, and other civil engineering structures.
Location: Inchicore, Dublin 8
Department: Civil Engineering – Structures Technical Office
Duration: Initial 24 weeks (with potential extension for an additional 24 weeks)
Working Hours: Full-time (Office-based with some remote working; weekly in-office meetings required)

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in structural drafting or engineering support.
  • Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D.
  • Basic understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methods.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience working on railway infrastructure or construction-related projects.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare, modify, and review structural drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D.
  • Interpret existing structural drawings, surveys, and inspection reports to support ongoing refurbishment and maintenance projects.
  • Develop detailed reinforcement, steelwork, and connection drawings for various railway structures.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant railway industry standards, Eurocodes, and British Standards.
  • Maintain and manage CAD files, engineering records, and project documentation in an organized and efficient manner.
